MY HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCE

Andrew Martz Marching BandDuring my 4 years attending Hebron High School in Carrollton, Texas, I was a member of the Hebron High School Marching and Concert Bands and played the clarinet. Marching band is serious stuff in Texas. Our band had over 200 members and competed in both local and state competitive marching competition each year and is ranked as one of the top bands in the area. You can see an example of our marching performance called “Music in Every Direction” at the Bands of America Championships in San Antonio, Texas at the following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVBlf0TaIZI&feature=related

MY KART RACING CAREER

I started my racing career in 1999 at the North Texas Kartway www.ntkarters.com in Denton, Texas racing local races in the junior 1 class. My first kart was a Micro Shop chassis with a 100cc Yamaha engine. This class was designed for 8-12 year olds. I quickly learned the basics of precision driving and started working my way to the top. I quickly went from an unknown driver to a frequent first place finisher. Over the next several years I captured several first place club championships as well as several KART regional championships. I won 2 KART national championships as well in the Junior Classes. As I got older, I moved into 80cc Shifter kart racing. This type of kart used an 80cc Honda motor with a 6 speed gear box. Top speed on this kart is 115mph. In 2004 I won the KART National Championship in the 80cc Junior Class. Check out my racing achievements at the History page.
